1. Bowl on a team that comes in at 616.
It is hard to hit the number exactly but the closer you are, the
better chance you have at cashing. Once the tournament starts, the
bowlers who average the most over their entering average have the
better chance to win their points.
2. Have Good Team Chemistry
Team chemistry sometimes will over rule a team cap but it certainly
doesn't hurt. The better you and your teammates get along and
communicate, the faster you will get lined up and gain more
confidence.
3. Do Your Homework.
Look over the average list and find a bowler that you know is
bowling over that listed rating. An improving bowler is always a
great advantage to have on the team.
4. Build a Tournament Arsenal
Build your arsenal to accommodate different lane conditions. More
times than not, the 616 tournament condition will be challenging.
Having equipment that is predictable and will stay on target is a
huge benefit, especially when the scoring pace is lower than normal.
Once the pattern opens up, you can use the balls that give you that
little extra umph!
5. Practice, Practice, Practice
Practice on your game. During practice, get to know your equipment and
work on your spares. This is a tip for cashing in any tournament.
"Strike for show, spare for doe" still holds true.
6. Get Experience
Join a sport or challenge shot league. This will keep you fresh and help
you stay focused on hitting a mark. Same thing applies here as
practicing. You will learn to adjust from front to back as well as
moving left with your feet. You will get more use out of those
tournament balls, too.
7. Spend Your Money Wisely
Only bowl if you have the money to spare. Putting added pressure on
yourself doesn't make it any easier for you to perform when you need
it. Taking advantage of opportunities when the other team gives it
to you could be the difference in cashing or not. You must come
through in the clutch!
8. Lane Conditions
Know the lane condition before the tournament day. The 616 believes
everyone should have an equal opportunity during the tournament and
will have as much information on the website about the lane
condition as possible. If you need further assistance you can ask
your pro shop operator or call Marty.
9. Stay Positive
A good attitude keeps your mind flowing and free of distraction.
Don't cloud your head with things you can't control.
10. Have Fun
Having fun is the whole point, isn't it? We are not talking
about a huge amount of money, so enjoy yourself. If you are having
fun it is easier to be relaxed and make good shots.
It is our goal to give you
the most for your money. We strive to make the teams as fair as
possible and put out lane conditons that are fair and fun to bowl
on. If you have questions or concerns, please let us know.
